Live with courage.
Everyone gets stressed out from time to time.
For adolescents and adults, balancing the pressures of school, friends, family or work can sometimes get out of control. It can prevent you from living a full life. If you or someone you know is experiencing anxiety that seems to be beyond the usual stresses of day-to-day living, Unison Health’s Center for the Treatment of Anxiety offers a range of services that can help you take on each day with a calmer, more positive outlook.
The Center for the Treatment of Anxiety offers services for a range of anxiety-related disorders, for adolescents and adults including:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Fear related to past traumatic events
- (re-experiencing the past events in the present)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Fear caused by intrusive, unwanted thoughts or images accompanied by repeated behaviors (rituals) designed to reduce the fear/discomfort
- Sudden, intense surges of fear; symptoms may include racing heart, shortness of breath, chest discomfort and the fear of dying
- Fear of embarrassment, humiliation or evaluation by others
- Fear of specific places, events or things
- Stress-Related Issues
When an individual visits the Center for the Treatment of Anxiety for the first time, he or she will speak with a licensed professional who will complete a full diagnostic assessment. Unison Health looks at each client holistically, taking into account the individual’s physical and psychological needs. From there, we will be able to recommend a course of action that’s right for you.
The licensed professionals at the Center for the Treatment of Anxiety help provide people with tools and strategies to better cope with anxiety disorders. They also offer a sympathetic ear, as people discuss the stresses and anxiety-related challenges that stand in the way of recovery.
Psychological Testing and Services
Every individual is unique, and Unison Health staff have access to the tools to ensure every client receives the appropriate treatment for their specific issues.
For some people who are coping with anxiety-related disorders, counseling and may be sufficient. Many people, however, benefit greatly from medications, and finding the ideal pharmaceutical solution can be immensely rewarding. Unison Health’s doctors and nurse practitioners work closely with the client to determine which medications will deliver the greatest benefits.
Anxiety-related disorders are real — and they can be treated.
