Support Unison Health’s Housing Initiatives to Build Stronger Futures
This Giving Tuesday and throughout December join Unison Health in creating stronger futures for individuals in our community. Your support is critical to helping us provide stable, permanent housing–a necessary first step for people working toward a better quality of life.
For someone facing chronic mental illness or homelessness, basic needs like shelter and food must be met before they can focus on improving their lives. At Unison Health, we know that when individuals have a safe, stable place to call home, they can begin to access services like therapy, addiction treatment, and life skills training that pave the way to long-term recovery and stability.
Through transformative programs like Housing First and Whitney Manor, we are addressing the complex challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness and mental illness:
- Housing First helps clients locate long-term housing while providing essential resources to sustain their new homes, such as furniture, household items, and food - thanks to partnerships with the Toledo Community Foundation and the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Lucas County. Once housing is secured, Unison’s team of caring professionals works one-on-one with clients to address their physical and mental health needs, connect them to benefit programs, and help them build life skills for lasting independence.
- Whitney Manor goes beyond affordable housing. This project offers an integrated continuum of care that includes mental health services, substance use treatment, and workforce skills training. Once residents have housing, Unison’s dedicated team partners with them to provide personalized support, helping individuals navigate their recovery journey and access critical services that put them on the path to long-term stability.
When you give to Unison Health, you’re helping put a permanent roof over someone’s head and offering them the opportunity to rebuild their life. Together, we can provide more than just housing—we can create a pathway to healing and hope.
