Behavioral health and substance use disorders can be painful, both for the people affected and their loved ones. For anyone who struggles, help — and hope — are available. Unison Health offers a wide range of services designed to meet the specific needs of any individual seeking a path to a better life.
Behavioral Health Treatment
The Unison Health team offers individualized behavioral health treatment for conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, domestic violence (offender and survivor), adjustment disorders, relationship issues, grief, anger management and stress management. At Unison Health you will be matched with a therapist skilled in treating your specific mental health need. You will work collaboratively with your therapist to develop a treatment plan tailored for you in a judgment free environment. Our therapists utilize evidence-based practices to not only challenge you, but to empower you to maintain gains well after you reach your treatment goals.
In addition to individual counseling sessions, clients can participate in group therapy where they can hear one another’s stories and know that they are not alone.
Groups are led by licensed therapists and several types of group options are available.
Unison also provides in-depth psychological testing and assessment – when medically necessary. Our testing is designed to get to the root of a client’s concerns.
SPERA Day Treatment
Unison Health’s Adult SPERA program exists to help adults coping with mental illness regain hope and take more effective action to improve their lives by interrupting recurring hospitalizations, reducing stigma, and stabilizing symptoms. The interdisciplinary team works with clients to improve their ability to use strengths, skills, treatment, and community resources more successfully. SPERA’s group schedule includes: Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Cognitive Enhancement Therapy (CET), Adult Day Treatment, Art Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This voluntary program is available five days per week, 2.5 hours per day. Transportation is coordinated as needed.
Center for the Treatment of Anxiety
When anxiety goes beyond the usual stresses of day-to-day living and prevents you from living a full life. Unison Health’s Center for the Treatment of Anxiety can help you take on each day with a calmer, more positive outlook. We treat a range of anxiety-related disorders, for adolescents and adults including:
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Panic Disorders
- Social Anxiety
- Chronic Worry
- Stress-Related Issues
While the Center most often uses therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat anxiety-related disorders, medications can also be administered by our in-house psychiatric team.
Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Adults
Unison Health works closely with people struggling with substance use disorders, helping them achieve and maintain sobriety. In addition, we provide the tools to sustain sober living during and after completion of the program.
With group treatment, individual counseling, family counseling and case management, our licensed professionals help individuals meet their personal goals.
Sub-Acute Detoxification Residential Program
Located at 1212 Cherry Street in Toledo, Unison Health’s 16-bed facility residential detoxification unit offers 24-hour medically supervised detox services. Staffed with caring individuals, the team is appropriately credentialed and trained to treat adults admitted to this program who are ready to detox. Throughout the detoxification process, our team provides access to a full continuum of individualized services to support clients in their journey, including behavioral health and primary care services.
Ambulatory Withdrawal Management
Ambulatory Withdrawal Management (AWM) is a level of care for individuals who are in mild to moderate withdrawal from substances and have stable, supportive housing and access to a support network. These individuals may access AWM as a step-down from sub-acute detox, as a transition to active treatment services in either Medication Assisted Treatment, Adult Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment or Dual Recovery, or to withdrawal only.
For many people, substance abuse is a way of self-medicating a serious behavioral health problem. When that happens, both conditions can be treated at the same time with a customized approach that helps people achieve a happier, healthier life.
Medication Assisted Treatment
Unison provides an outpatient medication-assisted withdrawal program in which clients receive medical services and support, opiate replacement medication, group and individual therapy.
Unison Health’s Recovery Residence follows the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) placement criteria. ASAM’s criteria ensures our clients who present with addiction or co-occurring conditions have a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan in place. The Recovery Residence, at 2310 Jefferson Avenue, offers clinically managed services. Each client’s strengths, resources and support structure are evaluated prior to placement.
Unison provides a range of primary care services designed to keep our clients on the path to total wellness. In addition to having an on-site family practice physician, we can also refer you to doctors and specialists throughout the community.
Unison Health clients have access to licensed professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
